THE BARON ENNISDALE, SIR HENRY EDWARD LYONS, OBE.
Of Grateley,co.Southampton, and a Baronet, mem. of Lloyd’s, and of the Liberal National Council and Exec. Cttee., formerly Major (General List), served in South African War 1900-2 and in World War I. 1915-19, was DAQMG., Headquarters S. Cmd. 1918-19, born 29 August 1878; son of John Edward Lyons, of Ennis,co.Clare; created OBE. 1919, a Knight 12 July 1933, a Baronet 3 March 1937, and raised to the peerage as Baron Ennisdale of Grateley,co.Southampton, 6 July 1939; married 17 January 1905 Helen daughter of Frank Bishop.

Arms: Quarterly,arg. and az., in the first and fourth quarters a lion rampant and in the second and third a phoenix all countercharged. Crest: A lion rampant az., collared and chained, the chain reflexed over the back, or, holding in the sinister paw a trefoil slipped vert. Motto: Facta non verba.
